“Infertility occurs equally amongst men as it does women. Currently one in six couples is infertile, one woman in five will suffer a miscarriage and one child in ten suffers from learning difficulties.” F Naish
The best thing you can ever do for yourself, and your unborn child is include pre-conception care in your current lifestyle. This involves optimising your nutrition, undertaking detoxification programs, reducing your stress levels, creating balance in your lifestyle, including exercise, and by healing yourself emotionally.
Nutritional Health – Are You Optimal?
In the first three months the fetal mass increases over 2 500 000 times. This is an extraordinary rate of growth that has unique nutritional requirements.
Falling pregnant whilst nutritionally compromised may mean that your pregnancy may not be as straight forward as planned.
By taking a pin prick of your blood, a Live Blood Assessment is an informative way of looking at your nutritional status as it is today.
Minerals: The soil in Australia is selenium, zinc and magnesium deficient. My favourite multi-mineral supplement is Colloidal Minerals; they come from plants and are 97% absorbable through the sub-lingual circulation under the tongue, balancing cellular deficiencies immediately.
Vitamins: Using Live Blood Assessment, I would say that 50-60% of my clients have mild to moderate vitamin B deficiencies. Organic Spirulina is my favourite way of correcting Vitamin B deficiencies, including folate; it is also high in protein, corrects iron levels within weeks, and alkalises the blood.
Protein: Store nuts and seeds in the fridge, many nuts are best soaked prior to consumption and should not taste bitter. Eat fish that are high in essential fatty acids, and ask your fish monger about avoiding fish with mercury. Soft boil your eggs, they are great for you. Eat white organic meats in moderation, if at all. Avoid cow’s milk, stick to organic yogurts, sheep and goat’s cheese.
Fat: Essential Fatty Acids are essential for reproductive health and we need a balance of Omega 3, 6 and 9. Flaxseed (linseed), sesame oil, coconut oil, evening primrose oil etc may be taken as a supplement or used in cooking, without being heated.
Avoid: coffee, it has been related to fertility and pregnancy health problems; refined carbohydrates, red meat, alcohol, sugar, processed and junk foods.
The newly growing foetus takes what she/he knows is already there from the mother, not only from what she eats, but also from a deeper cellular level. The baby is building herself on her Mother, both energetically, as well as extracting what she needs from her mineral reservoir.
Lifestyle Health – Are You Stressed?
The beauty of a conscious conception is that you can make sure that your lifestyle is in balance and you are happy prior to falling pregnant. A stressed woman may often skip ovulation altogether and stress, including over-work can cause havoc with fragile sperm counts. Exercise, even if it is only walking for 20 minutes per day, taking breaks from work, even if it is only a 10 minute tea break, giving up caffeine and simply replacing it with green tea, taking regular short cold showers, and being in nature everyday, all help to reduce stress levels.
Intent – Why Do You Want a Child?
There are some really important questions to ask yourself. Do you really want a child or is it because society, your parents and/or your partner think you should have one? Do you want a child to fix your relationship, to avoid working, in order to feel loved, or to fulfill something that is missing in your life? Be honest with yourself. If you want a child with your heart and your intention is pure, then you can be patient and enjoy the process. Perhaps you are enjoying your career and current lifestyle and are not completely ready yet. It is possible to block conception on a subconscious level. Buddha taught us that “desire is the cause of all suffering”. Can you let go and let God? To be attached to an outcome may cause you much emotional pain.
Infertility – Due to No Physical Condition
If you and your partner have failed to conceive after one year, you have had all the physical examinations etc done and come up perfectly healthy, then you need to look at the emotional causes to your infertility. When you have a baby, in a sense you have to re-live your childhood. Sometimes a woman’s childhood may have been so traumatic, that on a subconscious level they will block conception as they simply do not want to re-live it. Counselling, Australian Bush Flower Essences, emotional release techniques and healing can all free emotional and therefore physical blockages.
Do not panic! Natural Fertility Management, NFM has shown that health far out ways age.
Pre-Conception Care – Are You Toxic?
Avoiding toxicity in a new life must begin with pre-conception care in both aspiring parents. It is recommended that all detoxification programs be completed four months prior to conception.
Your job and/or hobbies and where you live as well as the food and water you consume are all worth addressing in terms of toxic accumulation. Hairdressers may experience day-to-day exposure to hair products, bleaches and dyes, gardeners to insecticides and fertilizers. Builders and trades people such as plumbers are often high in heavy metals, which can affect their overall health as well as the health of their sperm. Hair tissue analysis will assess levels of heavy metal toxicity. Specific detox programs are required for people high in heavy metals.
It takes roughly four months for spermatogenesis to complete its course and roughly four months for an egg to reach maturation. A healthy woman makes a healthy egg. A healthy man makes healthy sperm. A healthy egg and a healthy sperm make a healthy baby. Preconception care is equally important for men as it is for women. And it has been scientifically proven that the sperm accounts for 50% of this responsibility. All deep detoxification programs, such as liver flushes and juice fasting should be well and truly completed for both male and female prior to this four-month period, before a ‘baby-making’ attempt is made. Adequate nutritional status should also already be achieved prior to these four months so that the egg and sperm develop in an environment that is prepared and healthy.
In the first trimester, some women experience a poor appetite. Some women feel sick all the time and others may vomit. (Liver detoxification prior to pregnancy can help to avoid all this.)
J Herbal medicine is not only used to detoxify, but can be implemented to balance hormones, assist ovulation, normalise menstruation, reduce PMS, promote fertile mucus, destroy candida, increase sperm count, increase libido, tone the mucous membranes, build the uterus, strengthen the immune system, alleviate constipation, heal digestion, reduce anxiety as well as depression to name but a few.
If it is a soul’s aspiration to come in, it will do so. Of course it is not ideal to drink a strong cup of coffee as implantation is occurring. Ultimately however, it is the Mother’s soul and the incarnating child that has set up the agreement and the odd indulgence will not affect this spiritual bond. It is the subconscious intent that is often the most powerful.
There are a number of ways an inspiring Mother and Father can work on themselves through detoxification, emotional healing, herbal medicine, nutrition and strengthening of the internal organs. When this is done consciously, we have the ability to take responsibility, giving the incoming soul not only the gift of life, but also a healthy body. This can only be reflected in a healthy consciousness and the natural unfolding of the child’s emotional world and personality. By working on and healing ourselves now, we are also healing the soul that has chosen us, before he or she even gets here. What greater gift can there be?
